My love for paper-crafting began a few years ago when I received a handmade Christmas card from a friend.   A few months later I was invited to a stamp party, and the rest is history!  There is nothing like the personal touch of a handmade card, and I haven’t sent a store bought card to anyone in years!

If I had to sum up my card making style in a word, it would be eclectic.  My creative spirit can be influenced by everything from my mood that day, to something that I experience or an image that I see. One of my favorite techniques is to paper piece.

I truly feel lucky to have found such a wonderful creative outlet.  I love everything about paper-crafting, and when it comes to ‘me’ time, I can’t think of anything better!

I was born and raised in Denver. This is my home and I can’t imagine living anywhere else in the world. I have been crafting one way or another practically my entire life. It began with embroidery around 7, then knitting and crocheting, cross stitching, flower arranging, to print graphics and then scrapbooking and card making.  I actually began scrapbooking about 5 years ago so that I could hang with my sisters. I found that I enjoyed it. It’s amazing how quick something can become an obsession.

I am a happily single woman. I do not have children, but I have been touched by the lives of nearly 300 children. Being a teacher is the hardest job I’ll ever have, but I get to be with kids and then I get to send them home at the end of the day! School definitely takes a lot of my time, but I try to stamp and craft as much as I can.

I have two sisters and am “Sassy” to a fabulous niece and two amazing nephews. I enjoy traveling when I can. I love movies and The Amazing Race is my favorite television show.
I live a simple happy life.

Mary J

Hi, I'm Mary J - with a little bit about me!  I am of mixed race: English, Portuguese and Chinese - I was born in Hong Kong and came to England when I was 2 years old.  I now live in a small village in East Sussex in the South East of England with my husband Steve.  We have been together for about 15 years and we have two Yellow Labradors called Poppy and Lulu.  Most of all we all love going for long walks along the coast.  Work-wise, I am a project and change manager for a very large company and I commute to work in Central London.

I never considered myself to be creative but found cardmaking through a friend several years ago - I’ve now got the crafting bug BIG time!  I started my own blog in July 2009 as a way to challenge myself and to meet other cardmakers (of which I now have many, many crafty friends!).  I like to experiment, using different mediums and techniques although
my natural style is towards clean lines and using fun sassy images!

On my crafting journey, I am most thankful for finding so many new friends - albeit them being virtual!

Anne

I am happily married to a long suffering husband who accepts my craft addiction without question.  We have two grown up children and a fantastic granddaughter who is 12.

I have been crafting since I was little.  Knitting, sewing, x-stitch and finally I started making cards in 2001 after
 an accident.

While recouperating I decided I needed some 'me' time and decided on cardmaking.  Once mobile again Saturday afternoons saw me at cardmaking class and the rest, as they say, is history.

I started my blog in 2007 and have 'grown' since then as there are so many talented people in blogland to learn from.

I seem to have settled into a clean and simple style of crafting but do like to splash out occasionally and create something out of my comfort zone.

What brought you to crafting ? Been crafting since I was 4 started with knitting crochet, rug making, glass and silk painting, candle making and a big passion for cross stitch to name a few.... been card making for over 10 years now.

What inspires you with your cardmaking? I just love putting different papers and colours together indifferent layouts and colouring I love!

What crafts do you enjoy the most? The crafts I enjoy the most is card making and other paper creations followed by tatting and cross stitch.

What is your own crafting style, how would you describe it?  I don't have one style of crafting, I go with the flow what ever my mood takes me, sometimes clean and simple, sometimes many layers of beautiful papers, lots glitter, flowers and ribbon.

A bit of personal info maybe ... I'm 30 from South Wales, just outside of Cardiff, married to my wonderful husband Greg have 2 teenage step daughters a few fish 2 birds and a cat! Love all sorts of craft, love to try new things and just have a go!

Marie

Hi, I’m Marie and I live in London in the UK. I’ve been crafting for a few years now after ill health meant a complete lifestyle change - I had to give up my busy job at an d
advertising agency and I was spending more time at home than ever before.

After getting bored of spending night after night in front of the TV, I decided that I needed a hobby so I bought a small kit to try card making, fell in love with it and the rest, as they say, is history!!!

My house has now been taken over by stash and I have a serious addiction to all things papercraft related!!!
In the early days, I watched a lot of the TV craft shows and most of my cards were made from kits, but now I start from scratch using rubber stamps or digital images and get my inspiration from magazines and blogs.

I am primarily a card maker but I’ve recently been looking at doing some other projects – so keep an eye out for those!! I wouldn’t say that I have a particular ‘style’ as such – a lot of my cards are quite ‘clean and simple’, I would say, but then there are occasions when I use lots of flowers and embellies – it all depends what mood I’m in!!

I LOVE taking part in challenges as I really find that they spark my creativity and I find them a great starting point.
I’ve been blogging since earlier on this year and it’s really changed my life and opened up a whole new world to me. I love visiting other people’s blogs to look at their creations and I’ve made lots of friends around the world.

I’ve also been lucky enough to have made it onto a number of Design Teams, and I love the idea that my cards might inspire someone else.

Pam (hung up her cupcakes hat for now)

Hi All!  My name is Pam and I live in Kent in the UK with my cat Coco!  I work full time as a PA in the City of London, which is ok but really gets in the way of what I want to be doing which is crafting!

I have been crafting for some years.  Both my parents were crafty.  For as long as I can remember my Mum has always knitted and she also dabbled in some cross stitching.  My Dad was great at sketching and drawing, he never really took it far but he was amazing.  My crafty journey started in cross stitching which I continue to do when I can find the time!  I moved into papercraft and it completely took over my life!  I started my blog a year ago and my crafting skills have improved 100%, which is all down to the fabulous inspiration from all the crafters out there!

I have made some wonderful friends on my crafting journey which has been amazing.  Long may it continue!
